    Born on February 17, 1929, she grow up in Birkenhead, England. Patricia was the daughter of Catherine and Isaac Routledge. During WWII, she lived in the basement of her father's shop.

    Attended Mersey Park Primary School, followed by Birkenhead High School. Which was there she sang in the choir and successfully ran the Sunday school.

    She than went to study English at Liverpool University, which lead her to study acting at the Bristol Old Vic Theatre School and launch her acting career at the Liverpool Playhouse.
